Former First Lady to Join Husband at Mar-a-Lago Event
Melania Trump will join her husband, former President Donald Trump, at a fundraiser for the Log Cabin Republicans at Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida, on Saturday.
This will be Melania Trump's first public appearance since she left the White House in January 2021, and it comes amid a time of increased scrutiny for her husband.
According to Katie Rogers of The New York Times, Melania Trump shares her husband's belief that the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol is unfair.
The former first lady has been largely out of the public eye since leaving the White House, and her appearance at the Log Cabin Republicans fundraiser is expected to be closely watched.
The Log Cabin Republicans are a political organization representing LGBTQ+ conservatives, and Melania Trump has been a supporter of the group in the past.
In addition to her public appearance, Melania Trump is also scheduled to receive the organization's Spirit of Lincoln Award, which recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the LGBTQ+ community.
