Bundesliga News: Bayern Munich Back On Top After Derby Win

Reds Hammer Hamburg 3-1

Ribéry and Robben Strike As Champions Keep Pace With Wolfsburg

Bayern Munich moved back to the top of the Bundesliga on Saturday as they came from behind to beat Hamburger SV 3-1 in the Bavarian derby. Hamburg took a shock lead through Marcell Jansen but Bayern hit back with goals from Franck Ribéry, Arjen Robben and Thomas Müller to take the points. The win means that Bayern are now one point clear of Wolfsburg at the top of the table, with Borussia Dortmund a further point behind in third.

Bayern made a bright start to the game and should have taken the lead in the opening minutes when Robert Lewandowski found himself through on goal but he fired wide. Hamburg then grew into the game and took the lead in the 25th minute through Jansen, who headed home from close range after good work from Pierre-Michel Lasogga.

Bayern responded well to going behind and equalised just five minutes later through Ribéry. The Frenchman cut inside from the left and fired a low shot into the bottom corner. Bayern continued to press for a second goal and were rewarded in the 54th minute when Robben scored a stunning goal. The Dutchman received the ball on the right wing and drove into the Hamburg penalty area before cutting inside and firing a shot into the top corner.

Müller then made sure of the points for Bayern in the 74th minute when he tapped home from close range after Lewandowski had headed the ball down. The win was Bayern's fourth in a row in the Bundesliga and keeps them firmly in the title race.

**Conclusion**

Bayern Munich's win over Hamburg was a timely reminder of their quality and their determination to win the Bundesliga title. The Reds were not at their best in the first half but they showed their character to come from behind and secure a vital victory. With Wolfsburg and Borussia Dortmund both dropping points this weekend, Bayern are now in a strong position to claim their fifth consecutive Bundesliga title.
