Creighton University awaits McDermott's jersey retirement

OMAHA, Neb. -- Creighton University graduate Doug McDermott is set to enter his tenth season in the NBA. The former Bluejay star, who was drafted 11th overall by the Denver Nuggets in 2014, has spent the past two seasons with the Indiana Pacers.

McDermott, a three-time All-American at Creighton, is one of the most accomplished players in program history. He left the school as the all-time leading scorer (2,320 points), rebounder (1,005 rebounds), and three-point shooter (386 three-pointers).

McDermott's jersey is set to be retired by Creighton University on December 17, 2023. The ceremony will take place at halftime of the Bluejays' game against the Providence Friars. McDermott will become the seventh Creighton player to have his jersey retired.
