Former Goalkeeper Dies Aged 26
Wolverhampton Wanderers and other clubs have expressed their condolences after the passing of former goalkeeper Matija Šarkić.
Šarkić, a Montenegro international, played for English club Millwall on loan from Wolves in 2023, featuring in eight matches. He passed away on June 5 at the age of 26.
Wolves released a statement saying, "We are deeply saddened to learn of the tragic passing of our former goalkeeper, Matija Šarkić. Our thoughts and condolences are with his family and friends at this difficult time."
Millwall also paid tribute to Šarkić, stating, "We are devastated to learn of the passing of our goalkeeper, Matija Šarkić. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time."
Šarkić's death has left a void in the world of football, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
