Fever Drop Preseason Opener at Seattle, 95-87

Fever Face Sky in Home Opener Thursday

The Indiana Fever opened the 2024 WNBA preseason with a disappointing, 95-87, loss to the Seattle Storm Tuesday night at the Climate Pledge Arena. Despite a strong performance from forward Victoria Vivians, who led the Fever with 20 points, Indiana was unable to overcome a slow start and a late-game rally by the Storm.

The Fever trailed by as many as 15 points in the first half, but managed to cut the deficit to just five points at halftime. Vivians' 10 points in the second quarter helped keep Indiana in the game. In the third quarter, the Fever took their first lead of the game, but the Storm quickly regained control and led by 10 points heading into the fourth quarter.

The Fever made a late push in the fourth quarter, cutting the deficit to just two points with less than two minutes remaining. However, the Storm made their free throws down the stretch to secure the victory. Breanna Stewart led the Storm with 25 points, while Jewell Loyd added 20 points and eight assists.

The Fever will return to action Thursday night when they host the Chicago Sky in their home opener. The game will tip off at 7 p.m. ET at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
